Professional/Personal Brochure
For this project I had to create a brochure about myself for a profession. I also had to Photoshop a picture of myself for the brochure. In the brochure I had to have a biography about myself for the profession I chose to do. But I also had to make the brochure persuasive so the audience would "trust" me and come to me. For the picture I had to create a different look of myself but it also had to look professional. At the beginning of this project the first thing I had to do was edit the image. I filtered it, took out the original background and added a new background. I drew a necklace and lines on my shirt to make more of an artistic look. I also added different colors to my hair and made the image transparent. After the image was edited I created a brochure and inserted the image onto the page. The brochure was made from a blank landscape sheet using Microsoft Publisher. I divided pages 1 and 2 into three different sections to make a tri-fold brochure. On the front cover for the titles I used word art and then filtered the word art to give it a different appearance. On the other folds I wrote about myself, like what schools I went to for high school and college and how long I've been teaching for. I also had other information about my job, like how the school had helper of the year. I made the brochure to be about myself offering tutoring after school. Throughout this project I learned more about filtering images and using Photoshop. If I could do this brochure differently I would edit my image differently.
CD Cover
For this assignment I had to create a CD cover for one song. To do this assignment you would have to know how to make a CD cover. You would have to know the dimensions of a CD cover and how to make a CD cover on Microsoft Publisher. You would also need to know how to use Photoshop. The first thing I did was open Publisher and I created a template of the dimensions of the CD cover. I inserted another page so there was a total of two pages, one for the front and back side of the CD cover and the other page for the inside of the CD cover. I then had to find images on Google of pictures that related to the song. I had to Photoshop every picture so it was different from the original. I made a collage of the pictures that describe the song for the front cover. Once I filtered the images on Photoshop and made the design I wanted for the CD cover I inserted it on Microsoft Publisher. On the inside, or second page, was the lyrics to the song and who it was by. The back of the CD cover included the copyright, barcode and a record label. I learned how to make a CD cover and the dimensions for one. I also learned more about Photoshop and how to use it. If I could do this differently I would get a different picture of rain so it does not look pixilated.
Second CD Cover
In this assignment I had to create another CD cover. This time there was a bunch of songs and I was given one song, in which I had never heard. I had to create the CD cover based on how I took or understood the song. In order to do this project I had to research the song. So the first thing I did was listen to the new song and look up the lyrics. I then began to create the CD cover using Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher. Photoshop was where I made the collage or the image for the CD cover. Microsoft Publisher was where I made the actual CD cover like the size of it and it was also where I inserted the images after they were done. I made the CD cover to be about a man 'tripping' and falling in love, or "falling down". I got a picture of a heart from Google and set it as the background. I got also picture of a rose from Google and duplicated the one rose multiple times to fit around the outside of the heart. I then got a picture of a man falling from Google and put him falling into the heart along the words, or title of the song, Falling Down. Then I filtered the entire image/collage. Then I inserted it to Microsoft Publisher and put it on the section for the front cover. The back of the CD cover had the copyright symbol, barcode and record label. It also had the same picture as the front but without the man and the title of the song. The inside of the CD cover had the lyrics and who the song was by. If I could do this differently I would make the back cover a little more different than the front cover.
